Following a merger of BOC and Linde in 2006, Cochrane McGregor were appointed in early 2007 to test the feasibility of reorganising their Guildford office to accommodate a move of the newly merged corporate group function from nearby Windlesham.

The feasibility study established the outline for a refurbishment project of the Priestley Centre, the key objectives being to reorganise the building to reflect the operational structure of the newly merged business, create a new self contained Linde Group office, upgrade the interior of the building throughout, design and implement a full refit for the new Group area and carry out a part replacement of existing office furniture. The assignment was set up from the outset as two discrete but interrelated projects.

Key to the success of the project would be the integration of the new Linde corporate identity whilst maintaining the existing BOC identity which was to be retained as the UK business’ operational brand.

CMA were retained to undertake space planning and interior design for both projects and contract management services for the Group project, working alongside external building services and cost consultants and the clients own IT specialists. BOC opted to take on the management of the internal reorganisation and relocation moves.

With completion imminent, the project has been run to a tight programme and within cost.
